An Update
So Kat and I went camping at Half Moon Bay State Beach. The drive was beautiful, everything was beautiful but the beach was so windy that my legs are still chapped from being sandblasted. By the nightfall we were the only tent still standing in a campground of RV's. I had never really spent time in Half Moon Bay the town. Downtown is much like downtown Carmel with galleries and import shops while the outer edges were a little...different I guess would be the right word. I mean they sell make-up at the ACE Hardware and there are about 50 Big Creek Lumbers in a 20 mile radius. But we did discover some really great places to eat I just wish I could remember the names. We also found this beautiful cemetary that was completely overgrown. The trip ended with us pulling over somewhere in the Capitola area to let the traffic break. While Kat sat in her truck reading the novel she had started while camping I made my way to a nice little bar called the Castaway. It was the kind of bar with Stevie Ray Vaughn and Waylon Jennings on the jukebox with a two striker bartender in a SS beanie the said "100% White Boy" on the back. It was decorated in old Santa Cruz fishtail skateboard. But the best part was the Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap. I love bars like this, the kind of place where your not sure if they will serve you or kick your ass. Usually they are stocked with colorful people who are just a laugh a minute. The bartender, a stocky fellow named Mat was showing me his busted knuckles where he fell off his old school Schwinn and smacked into a mailbox. I like this place if I can find it again I think I'll go back.
