A New Post, YEAH!!!!

So I saw Dropkick Murphys last night. Another amazing show although the P.A. seemed a little fuzzy. Could have been the fact I was in the pit. Man I love it: the sweat, the pushing, the shoving, the heat, it’s a beautiful thing. Did I mention that it’s really awesome to have a girlfriend who loves pits and DKM as much as I do. You see my ex wife was the kind that wanted to stand as far away from everyone and sit and watch the band. Kat’s just amazing in general though. We had a fun day bumming around the city just hanging out. Went over to the Chieftain and had the best beer. If you can find it get a pint of Samuel Adams Black Lager. Their Chocolate Bock is also really good.

So I had my ten years class reunion about a month ago. It wasn’t bad. There were a few people there I don’t normally see. Most everyone else though lives in town. Seeing Chris made me sad, Iraq really fucked him up. I hate the fact that I’ve got friends there and going there but not a day goes by that I don’t say a…I guess prayer, chant, whatever for everyone there and their safety. I see these kids at work, barely 19 and know it won’t be long before they are sent to the sand box. Last night at the show Ken Casey talked about a special recording of the song “Fields of Athenry” the band did for Sgt Andrew Farrar, USMC Then they started the song then Ken stops it. I guess someone was shouting “Fuck Iraq” Ken got pissed and told the kid that it’s alright to not agree with Bush or the situation and that no one in the band does but that supporting the troops over there is way different than supporting the war and Bush. He also told the kid if he said anything the rest of the night he’d kick the kids teeth in. I love you Ken Casey.
So, yeah, Kat was nervous about my reunion and kept asking if I was. No, I told her. I didn’t give a fuck about what any of them thought of me then, I care even less now. Afterwards she said she wished she’d known me in high school. She said everyone she talked to spoke very highly of me.
So I got this pretty cool opportunity the other weekend. A girl who really shook up my world about a year and a half ago happened to be in town and finally we got to clear the air. If she reads this I just want to say it was really great to see you and I hope we can stay in touch.

Now for a few fun misc. things.
