The End of Summer

Ok so a few posts ago I listed few things that I was looking forward to this summer. Now as Labor Day I have decided to reflect on these things. First up Dropkick Murphys' new album The Warrior's Code. Great album because Dropkick doesn't do anything new. They found a formula and it works. Seeing them on this year's Warped Tour was a high light of a rather disappointing show. I'm looking forward to seeing Dropkick this October at the Warfield. Last year the crowd was great and the show was awesome.
So I got back from Vegas a few weeks ago. This was probably the most mellow time I've ever had in Vegas. I saw the White Tiger at the Mirage, saw Big Elvis at the Barbary Coast, drank, drank, drank, road the Manhattan Express at New York New York, visited my cousin, hung out with a buddy. It was really mellow.
Dean Koontz's Frankenstein : City of Night. I just can't get into any of Dean Koontz's other writing but this version of Frankenstein has caught my interest. Damn you Dean Koontz. You have like 1000 novels under your belt with six coming out a week and I have to wait an entire year to find out what happens to the albino midget. Damn You!

"We're not just ordinary, we're extra-ordinary"

I sent off my registration for my ten year class reunion today and it started me thinking. My life is pretty damn ordinary. I get up, I go to work, I come home, eat dinner with my girlfriend, watch a little tv, or a movie and go to sleep, wake up repeat. And I like it that way. My job is not a highly skilled kind of job that requires years of schooling and numerous degrees, but it pays well and I enjoy it. My girlfriend isn't supermodel stunning but she's amasing and keeps me on my best. I had the trophy wife once, she left me for her coke dealer. My car is economical, a little dinged up but if I could choose a dream car it was be a 57 chevy street machine not a high preformance racer. Life is orindary and I'm thankful. I'm glad that certin aspects of my life are behind me. I'm glad it now takes only 4 pints to get me drunk instead of 14. I'm glad to have one girl who gets me, or at least makes and effort too intsead of five or six different girls who don't get why Brad and Jen can't work things out. I like the grocery shopping, the utility bills, the housecleaning, picking up the dry cleaning. Life is good.
